There are 8 elements to consider when creating a presentation:

1. Be consistent 
2. Use contrast effectively
3. Use color appropriately 
4. KISS
5. Have a "Take Home Message"
6. Do not go crazy with images
7. Do not do anything childish/immature/"funny"
8. Know your audience
